Animal rescue team saves bear with jar on its head

One Florida bear is quite the lucky creature at the moment. According to, a black cub that had a jar stuck on his head for at least 10 days is now free to eat, drink and be merry.

The news source reports that the little creature, who was quickly given the moniker Jarhead, was seen roaming around in July with the pesky bin securely fastened to its head. After almost two weeks in the predicament, he was days away from death.

Animal rescue activists quickly stepped in to help the furry beast, and followed the family in an attempt to catch him. After a trying time period, they eventually stabilized his protective momma with a tranquilizer gun and quickly grabbed her baby.

After an overnight stay, the family was released back into a less-dense area of the forest. The bear appears to be doing well.

According to the Southwest Florida Water Management District, the black bear is the largest native land mammal in the state. ADNFCR-2796-ID-19927360-ADNFCR
