Chihuahua's life saved by CPR

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) has saved countless human lives, but the procedure was able to rescue one lucky little canine as well.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Larry Kosinski, whose 8-year-old Chihuahua, Valentino, was attacked by another dog this past Sunday, soon realized his pet wasn't breathing. It was then that the gastroenterologist sprung into action.

Using his medical knowledge, the Illinois resident decided to perform CPR on his beloved canine, who he rescued from a puppy mill last year.

"It's not that different from what you would do on an infant," Kosinski told the news source.

Thanks to his quick thinking and expertise, Valentino survived the ordeal and is recovering at the moment. In fact, it seems as though the tiny animal is falling right back to his usual routine.

"He's on the couch eating tonight - it's a milestone," Kosinski told the news outlet.

According to the Pet Guardian Angels of America, CPR can be used on canines in an emergency. However, it's always best to check with your vet beforehand.
