Good Samaritan performs animal rescue

After seeing a cat fall out of a truck, get hit by a car and then fall 70 feet, an anonymous good Samaritan swerved through traffic to rescue the feline, reports.

The cat, now named Amelia, has been through quite an ordeal. After taking a tumble out of the moving vehicle, she was thrown into traffic and didn't know where she was. When she was struck by a car, she scurried out of traffic only to jump off of a bridge.

The passerby found the animal hiding under a van, miraculously surviving the horrifying plunge. She took the cat to the Humane Society of Cowlitz County, where she was examined and found to have a broken leg and cracked palate - minor injuries considering what she had just been through.

"It hit the ground so hard, it cracked the palate, it was about a two-inch crack," Rick Johnson, executive director of the animal shelter, told the news source. "[It] takes a pretty good force to do that."

Amelia is recovering well, helping nurse a 2-week-old kitten the animal rescue is also caring for on their premises.ADNFCR-2796-ID-19842238-ADNFCR
