Marine Animal Rescue group expands its services

The Marine Animal Rescue (MAR) has already saved countless sea creatures, but it looks as though their efforts are still going strong.

According to the Daily Breeze, Peter Wallerstein, director of MAR, has announced they are building a Los Angeles care center to help save a greater number of needy marine animals.

"I've been working on it for over a decade," Wallerstein told the news outlet. "Finally, after all these years and efforts, the federal government allowed me to put in a proposal."

Now that Wallerstein has the go-ahead, the caring animal rescue specialist will begin working on securing funding for the $5 million project. However, there's no doubt that the tenderhearted man is up to the challenge.

"Now we're going to work really hard," Wallerstein told the news source. "All the pieces are in place."

According to its website, for the past 20 years MAR has helped scores of whales, dolphins, seals and sea lions along the California coast. Their territory includes Marina del Rey, Palos Verdes, Venice, Santa Monica and San Pedro.ADNFCR-2796-ID-19898717-ADNFCR
