Video shows loyalty between two dogs after Japan earthquake

An exhausted and muddy spaniel with a silver collar is shown on video footage leading rescuers to a fellow injured canine following the devastating earthquake in Japan on March 11, according to Metro News U.K.

The video has captured what many call an example of the "ultimate loyalty."

"That dog is a better person than most humans. Loyalty is the best word to use when you describe a dog. Truly, man's best friend is a well-deserved title," says one viewer in a comment on the video.

In the clip, a voice identifies the location as the Arahama area of Ibaraki Prefecture.

Japanese seismologists had predicted in January of 2011 that the chances of an earthquake off the coast of Ibaraki was about 90 percent, within the next 30 years, according to the Economist. However, no one foresaw the scale of the 9.0 magnitude quake that ultimately hit Japan.

Both of the dogs shown in the Ibaraki video have since been rescued and are being cared for at an animal shelter, according to Metro.
