Shortly after moving into my new condo community, a stray gray cat made her presence known to all. She would come into neighborhood garages and visit us as we gathered outside for BBQ's and parties. We named her Condo Kitty. Everyone fed her and even let her roam in and out of their units. One night a scary thunderstorm was developing. As a group of us gathered outside and watched the storm roll in, Condo came by acting very strange. Once we realized she wanted us to follow her, we were in for a big surprise. She took us around the corner to any empty lot under construction and led us to her little secret. She had 4 baby kittens! She trusted us to take her litter to a friend's garage where we set up a nice safe haven for her and her new family. Condo was the smartest cat I ever knew since that turned out to be one of the worst storms to hit in a long time. She wanted to protect her babies and trusted us to help her. We were able to find homes for all 4 kittens but Condo stayed with me for the next 11 years of her life.

The Animal Rescue Site focuses the power of the Internet on a specific need — providing food and vital care for some of the eight million unwanted animals given to shelters every year in the U.S., as well as animals in desperate need around the world. Over four million animals are put to death each year in the U.S. alone because they are abandoned and unwanted.
Each click on the purple "Click Here to Give — it's FREE!" button at The Animal Rescue Site provides food and care for a rescued animal in need.
