My little princess Roo saved my sanity. She was left attached by a leash to a storefront in my son's neighborhood. He took her home, but his landlord let him know he couldn't keep her. We had just lost our black lab and I was in no mood to get another dog, so when he called, I was very hesitant. When I found out she was a Chihuahua, I really didn't want the dog (thank you stereotypes). I asked what he was going to do with her if I didn't take her and he said he'd have no choice but to bring her to the pound. He also said that my husband said it was ok with him if it was alright with me (cue the guilt). I told my son to bring the dog over and on first look, I was hooked. She ran to me, sat in my lap and has become my light. We may have rescued her, but after having my children move out, and losing my beautiful Tasha; finding a place in my heart for Roo was easy and she has rescued me.
