I was horrified to hear that if homes could not be found for the kittens the guy, not a friend of mine, was going to drown them! Of course I agreed right away to take one and help find homes for the others. All of them were adopted, thank goodness.
Nya became my newest baby at 7 weeks old and her mother had already done a great job teaching her use the litter box. She misses her mother so much she suckles her tail for comfort. She is most always in my lap when she does start suckling and her purr plus her loving looks that she gives me make it impossible for me to wean her from her tail. I put a video on youtube if you would like to see her do this.
She has made friends with my other two rescue cats, even getting my 14 year old girl-cat to play like a kitten again. Nya is a treasure and I will always be glad I rescued her!
