We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit cat-only shelter in Erie, Pennsylvania. At Orphan Angels, our foster and adoption programs aim to place homeless cats, including those with special needs, FIV, and FeLV, in loving forever homes. We believe that every cat is adoptable; some just require a little more time, patience, and understanding than others to find the perfect match.We are a free-roaming sanctuary. When you enter our doors the majority of the 100+ cats that live on the premises are free to roam about the space. The only cats that you will find in cages currently are due to medical or dietary needs – but we are working hard to remedy this issue with our new renovation project.We are a no-kill shelter. We never euthanize based on finances or space within the shelter. We serve as the voice for the voiceless and provide quality veterinary care so long as it's humane and in the cat's best interest.Our ultimate goal is to place our cats in a loving forever home, but there is no limit on the amount of time they may spend with us. Every cat in our care can spend their days in our sanctuary for as long as they to.We are funded solely by donations and receive no money from outside sources. Our adoption fees alone do not cover the vetting costs associated with preparing a cat or kitten for adoption, especially those who may need medical care or treatment. Since we take in cats of all abilities we also support many cats in "long-term" foster situations due to chronic health issues or the inability to adopt them out. This can be quite costly at times.Throughout the year we do participate in many different fundraising efforts including various classes and events as well as selling our merchandise. We are always exceptionally grateful for any monetary donations made towards the cats in our care to help defray the operational costs associated with running the shelter or our extensive medical bills.
