Veterans across the country need your help NOW. Will you help send essential supplies to unhoused veterans and their pets?
Nearly 40,000 veterans experiencing homelessness and their beloved pets lack essential supplies for warmth and comfort. Most homeless shelters do not allow pets. On any given night, veterans without homes are forced to choose between staying with their pets and facing the dangers of living outside, or checking into a shelter and abandoning the only family they know.
The security of basic comfort items and nutritious meals can help bridge the gap for our veterans and their pets as they seek to secure permanent housing. Please consider giving a Good Pack and a Pet Pack today.
Each Good Pack includes:
- A backpack to hold supplies and possessions.
- A hygiene kit including shampoo, soap, and toothbrush.
- A reusable water bottle.
- A t-shirt, socks, and additional clean clothing.
- A blanket for warmth and comfort.
For veterans caring for a beloved animal companion, these pets provide emotional support and comfort, yet the responsibility can bring an added stress to a homeless veteran’s life.
Each Pet Pack includes:
-
A functional pack to hold the pet supplies.
- A collapsible bowl to provide a clean place for the pet to eat or drink.
- A slip lead leash to ensure the pet remains safe with their veteran owner.
- A pet toy for a fun distraction.
- Pet food and treats to provide the veteran's pet nourishment.
Give both a Good Pack and a Pet Pack to make the biggest impact!
Greater Good Charities works to provide food and comfort items to veterans experiencing homelessness in areas with high veteran poverty populations. Through our relationship with the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, these essential items will ensure local veterans have access to basic supplies and nutritious meals. Since 2019, we've distributed more than 36,000 Good Packs in over 88 cities.
They fought for us—let’s fight for them. Donate NOW to help our Good Packs program, and support Greater Good Charities' other lifesaving programs to help those in need. Just $25 can send a Good Pack to a veteran!

11/09/23 Update
In honor of Veterans Day, our team attended the Operation Veterans Stand Down Event in Miami on November 9, 2023! We handed out nearly 250 Good Packs and 75 supplemental pet packs to veterans in the community, who shared their stories and expressed their heartfelt gratitude for this support. Through distributions like this, Greater Good Charities makes a difference in the lives of veterans in need, and expands our network of partners in order to bring Good Packs to more communities!

Homeless veterans is an abhorrent term, this should never be. But until these heroes get the proper help from our government, we can and must step in to show them they’ve not been forgotten, and that we care. Importantly, their companion animals are often their only friends in this world, we must help them as well. This small act of kindness means so much. Please help.
Using Greater Good/Animal Rescue is a quick and easy way to send supplies to a veteran and his pet who are homeless. We owe them everything and this is an easy way to help them out!
The pics of vets and their pets are poignant to say the least......They are each other's best friend and a source of caring and comfort for each.....Such a worthy cause!
