Dogs and cats in Ukraine are starving. URGENT help is needed to send pet food and kennels into the country to keep pets warm and fed through the winter.

It has been two years since Russia's invasion of Ukraine began, and Ukrainians need you now more than ever. Over 13 million people have fled their homes since the Russian invasion began, many of them with pets. Ukrainian animal shelters cannot access basic resources like food to care for their pets, and refugees who lost everything need food and support to care for their cats and dogs.

The 4 Paws shelter in Kherson currently houses 400 cats and 300 dogs. Despite overcrowding, the brave shelter staff works tirelessly to find homes for these sweet pets. With temperatures dropping, these pets are in danger once again - this time from life-threatening cold and starvation. Dog houses are urgently needed to provide warmth and shelter for the animals, especially after the trauma they’ve endured. As more and more pets flood the shelter, they are also in desperate need of food. You can help.

Kharkiv region: The Kharkiv region is undeniably still one of the areas continuously suffering from shelling, and there remains a need for the evacuation and care of animals.

Despite all the circumstances, people are still there who care for, feed, treat, and find homes for abandoned animals.

Svitlana lives in the area and cares for over 300 sick, injured, and homeless animals.

She says, "All of them need care and love, and I strive to provide decent living conditions and give them the best. But it's very hard alone, so I'm very grateful for the charitable organizations that become friends and the best helpers for my furry friends!"

Meet Dudova Larysa.

She has been rescuing, caring, and feeding animals for the past ten years. She has taken in homeless pets from the street and given them a safe place to live.

"Every year, the number of animals in my shelter increases. Throughout 2022-2023, we rescued abandoned dogs in Vasylkiv. Just this year, I have taken in 10 puppies. We have vaccinated them and will be looking for families for them," she told us.
