Together, We Can Save Bats From Becoming Extinct!
Without bats, our world would be significantly different - for the worse. More than 1,300 bat species consume vast amounts of insects, including some of the most harmful agricultural pests. Bats pollinate crops and even help to fertilize crops with their guano, the richest known fertilizer. Although many people believe bats are blind, in reality, bats can see perfectly well by using echolocation, a highly sophisticated technique of emitting sounds. Echolocation bounces sound off of objects in the bat's path to determine the size of objects, how far away they are, how fast they are traveling and even their texture. Bats are an important part of our ecosystem, and we couldn't live without them.
However, over 200 species of bats are currently threatened with extinction, mostly because of human activity! People kill bats based on false myths and irrational fears that bats are vampires - myths that largely came out of Hollywood. Bats also lose their habitat to development projects, tourism, and mining. And in North America, over 5.7 million of bats have been killed by White-nose Syndrome since 2006, a wildlife disease that is killing bats all across the continent! Bats need our help now.
Your help is needed URGENTLY! Your donation will go to Project Peril, a program of Greater Good Charities, and can help to save the Bat.

Bats have declined in population at alarming rates, and we need them to eat harmful insects and pollinate our food! This is a great cause, and it is also an inexpensive way to DO SOMETHING.
