Oklahoma Shelter Puppies & Their Moms Are Thriving Thanks To Your Donations
All puppies should be able to run and play to their heart's delight. Sadly, countless puppies are waiting in shelters across the country for a loving home.
Thanks to your generous support, The Animal Rescue Site along with Greater Good Charities' GOODS program delivered toys, food, and other goodies to Oklahoma animal shelters.
Read about how your donations made the day of shelter puppies and adult dogs below.
Daphne and her puppies
Daphne and her three newborn puppies were rescued by Oklahoma Pet Collective Society (OPCS) after being dumped on someone's property. Mama arrived malnourished and covered in mange.
They all went to live in a loving foster home and are doing well. The rescue shared with us, "Daphne has adjusted quickly, for a dog that has never been handled or loved by a human or ever been in a house. We can't wait to see them all grow up!"
Daphne and her babies have gained weight and are thriving thanks in part to your donations. OPCS sends their thanks and said, "We would have an extremely hard time keeping our food supply stocked without the help of this program and it's generous donors. We have over 80 dogs in our organization at the moment and that means a lot of mouths to feed, so we and dogs like Daphne are so grateful to have the support of this program."
Elvira
Elvira was found just in time as she was about to give birth in a snowstorm. She was dumped at a rural campground where she went from site to site looking for food and love. An elderly woman in town would feed her and other stray animals until she passed away a year ago.
Sweet Elvira's luck changed when she went up to a campsite just days before giving birth and found a vet tech who worked for Legacy of Hope Dog Rescue.
Elvira made it to a warm foster home to have her puppies and was able to watch them grow. She was fed all the nutritious food she needed to nurse her babies and is finally gaining weight.
According to the rescue, "Elvira is the best mom. She is appreciative of her foster family’s help in raising her pups. Instead of having to hover around them to protect them, she is able to relax while they play safely in the house. For once she is able to go outside and sun bathe, all while knowing at any time she can go inside whenever she pleases."
Your donations helped feed and care for this sweet family and many more. The rescue has a lot of hungry mouths to feed and shared, "the cost of dog food adds up quickly". The donated pet food allows them to put the saved money towards medical expenses and spay and neuter.
Asher and Amber
Two Legs Four Paws just rescued three puppies dumped at a construction site when two more stray dogs arrived in need of care and love. All of the dogs are doing well and went bonkers when they received a new toy that your donations provided. Check out the video below.

The rescue is beyond grateful for the support and said, "The 3 puppies are thriving today. They gained a lot of weight and turned from scared little guys into healthy good looking young dogs. Asher and Amber also added several pounds and came out of their shell after they got to know me and trusted me. Playing with toys helps a lot with being scared. They are sweet, friendly dogs today".
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
