Overlooked Dogs At Florida Shelter Give "Puppy Eyes" To Everyone Who Passes By To Capture Their Attention
Large adult dogs are often overlooked for puppies or smaller breed dogs. They patiently wait by their kennel door for someone to pick them.
They watch dozens of other dogs find their person and wonder when it will be their turn. Every time they see someone coming they look up with "puppy dog eyes" and wag their tail in anticipation, but then watch as they walk on by.
Humane Society of Broward County in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is hoping the power of social media will help their big dogs find loving homes.
The shelter shared a video of some of their adult dogs who have been waiting for months for their person and ask, "Will they ever find homes?"

They go on to say, "Our adult dogs need your help. Day after day, our big dogs see other younger and smaller dogs get adopted, while they wait for someone to give them a chance. So often, these wonderful and loving dogs are overlooked due to their size or their age or even their breed."
They all want to find someone to love.
One of the dogs in the video named Pongo is a 2-year-old American Staffordshire terrier who was found as a stray. He is an energetic boy who will need an active partner to go on adventures with. His bio states, "I'm a ball of energy, bouncing around like a kangaroo on a sugar rush." He is ready to love you unconditionally and only asks the same in return. He also promises to, "fill your life with laughter, fun, and a never-ending supply of playful antics."

There are several more adult dogs waiting at the shelter, like Dee Dee. The 2-year-old Labrador retriever mix is a sweet and loving girl who wants to find a family of her own. Her personality is just as beautiful as her brindle coat. Her bio states, "She loves going for walks, to the park and for car rides. She enjoys visiting with other dogs, chasing lizards and hanging out in the water. Dee Dee looks big and strong but she is gentle and will give you baby kisses and sit by your side waiting to be your loyal companion forever."
