Help Hungry Shelter Pets Score Nutritious Food During The Shelter Bowl
Football fans will spend an average of $115 celebrating this year's big football game on February 11. That could provide more than 2,000 meals for shelter pets! That's why Greater Good Charities created the Shelter Bowl, and we need your help to meet our goal of 3 million meals for pets in need.
Animal shelters need our help now more than ever. Homeless pets arrive daily at the already overcrowded shelters. Adoptions have declined and the shelters are struggling. Your generous donations can help save lives by not only providing nutritious food to shelter pets but allowing shelters to use the money saved on purchasing food to provide much-needed medical care.
Greater Good Charities is hosting its 9th annual Shelter Bowl in honor of the big game. We’ll send nutritious meals and NexGard® PLUS (afoxolaner, moxidectin, and pyrantel chewable tablets) to shelter pets in need.
Boehringer Ingelheim and Hill’s Pet Nutrition are matching donations, dollar for dollar, up to $60,000. Will you score a touchdown for these pets by giving now?
Meet our featured pets for the Shelter Bowl below.
Bert
Bert is the official spokes-dog of this year's Shelter Bowl and arrived at a Detroit shelter severely underweight. He was found on the streets looking for scraps of food. Bert arrived at Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit with a body condition score of 3 out of 9. Thanks to the amazing care he received at the shelter and your support, he is now a healthy 60-pound dog ready to find a loving home.
Anyone interested in finding out how to adopt Bert can lean more here.
Greater Good Charities fills the gap, helping ensure animals waiting for their forever homes, like Bert, always have a full belly.
Ajax
Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan (RPSM) shared how the donated food and treats not only nourishes the homeless pets but allows them to train the dogs up for adoption. Ajax arrived with an empty belly and horrible leash manners. He received the proper food and care and even learned how to walk like a good boy thanks to delicious treats and training. The shelter shared that the sweet boy has found his forever home. Ajax and the entire team send their thanks for your support.
Mocha
Another dog taken in by RPSM has found her happy ending with a loving family. The one-year-old Rottweiler mix entered RPSM's 10-week training program that involves specially trained inmates at Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater, Michigan.
Sweet Mocha graduated and has found her forever home. She is forever grateful for your help.
