93-Year-Old War Veteran Visits Late Wife's Grave Six Days Per Week

Nothing could slow down 93-year-old war veteran Ted Richardson from visiting the grave of his late wife, Florence.

According to CBS News, Ted and Florence met in high school when they were just 16 and 14, respectively.

It was love at first sight, but World War II ended up pulling Ted away from Florence shortly after they met.

Ted ended up serving his time and returning to marry Florence. The two spent over 72 years together before Florence passed away.

Despite his old age, Ted committed to visiting Florence's grave six days each week and taking care of her in the cemetery like she took care of him during her lifetime.

Ted meticulously cares for Florence's grave, trimming the grass around it and removing the leaves. He also brings flowers to place alongside her.

In an interview with CBS News, Ted explained, "I owe her that much. For 72 years, she lost her temper only once. In 72 years. And that was my fault."

At the age of 93, Ted had visited her grave over 1,300 times and planned to continue visiting her grave until he wasn't capable.

Ted Richardson passed away peacefully on July 11, 2021, at his home in Waikiki, HI at the age of 96. He visited Florence at the Punchbowl cemetery over 2,000 times before making his final trip to rest beside her on July 20, 2021.
