I was born in 1983 to a family of artisans in a highland town in Guatemala. My father has crafted jewelry for many years and is known for his work with faceted gemstones. My brothers, sisters and I grew up in an ambience filled with art.

From the time I was very young, I wanted to know everything my father did in the workshop. So my mind began adapting to this world. My dad taught me to work with silver, and helped me perfect my technique. I always wanted to be involved in designing and in giving a final touch to each piece of jewelry. He has been the best teacher and my greatest supporter.

"Eventually, I began to create my own designs through trial and error. I finished school but became a single mom at the age of 18. Those were tough times. But my immense love for my son got me through it and I know it was also with God's help. I found love again and today I'm a happy woman with two children.

"It's been some years now since I began with the dream of my own jewelry workshop. I had such a grand illusion and was so excited. Little by little, I began creating different kinds of things, from accessories and apparel to jewelry. Thanks to this, I've reached different kinds of shoppers. Whole families even leave my workshop with my designs.

"I want to grow as a person. I want to generate more self confidence and this will help me to protect my children. My trust is in God and I know that with him by my side, nothing is impossible. I dream of creating jobs to help people in my community. And I'd also like to see more of my country.

"I've been greatly blessed with the life I have. Like everyone, I've been through some difficult moments but I was able to overcome them, thanks to the unconditional support of my parents and the infinite love of my children. My family is my strength every day. My main goal is to work with dedication and create new designs that are both innovative and unique."
