Desoto Parish Animal Shelter

We are a small rural shelter in NW Lousiana. We have turned the shelter around in the last two years to a positive direction. Our euthanasia rate has been below 8% for the last 6 months. The year and a half before that the rate was between 10-15%. My understanding was is that it was much higher before my arrival. We are very proud of these improvements and also very proud of the cleanliness standard we maintain. We have been able to get everyone who enters our shelter to have a positive impression of the work we do. They usually comment on how nice things are.
