Founded in February, 2014, our mission is to help the dogs who need us the most - those in danger of of euthanasia, those with significant medical needs, and those needing a bit of training prior to being able to be adopted. We focus our rescue efforts primarily on dogs located in municipal pounds in the state of CT. We do, also, accept owner surrenders when we have space and an appropriate foster home for the dog. There are so many dogs needing help in our own state, without our looking elsewhere for them on a regular basis. We do maintain an active CT import license, and so also are able to help dogs outside of CT from time to time.Our rescue is 100% foster based. We do not have a facility. All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. We work closely with our foster families to provide our dogs with any training they may need in order to prepare them to be wonderful family members when they are adopted.Prior to intake, we always have a full behavioral evaluation on each dog. We always do meet and greets when placing a dog in a foster or forever home, to make sure that the placement is an appriate one for all family members - two-footed and four-footed. All of our dogs are fully vetted prior to placement. We are not a rescue who moves dogs in and out quickly, necessarily - although that is always a wonderful outcome if possible. We focus more on making sure that our dogs have all of their medical and behavioral needs met while still in our rescue, before we clear them for adoption. We give each of our dogs the time and attention they need, and treat them as we would our personal pets.We are fortunate to have a wonderful trainer on our Board of Directors, who works with our foster families and our dogs when needed. Additionally, we have several other board members and volunteers who are able to help with less complicated training tasks, such as house training and leash walking.As a small non-profit organization, in order to do what we do we are totally dependent on the generosity of our followers and supporters, and other animal lovers, for donations. We cannot do what we do, without all of you!
