After a lifetime of working in animal shelters and caring for animals Melissa decided she wanted to try it her own way! We opened in January of 2019 and have hit the ground running. In 2019 we save almost a thousand animals and are on track to far exceed that number in 2020!Melissa's Second Chances is a 501(c)3 non-profit animal shelter located in Shawnee, KS. We strive to help find homes and safe refuge for animals in need of a second chance at being a beloved family pet.
