Many shelters are recruiting new foster families to house these sweet fur babies who don't understand what has happened to them. Many foster heroes have already stepped forward to care for orphaned pets, but some rescue groups and fosters are unable to afford the essential items for complete care. More supplies are desperately needed for foster pets, or rescue groups risk not being able to save them all!

Our team has been working hard to prioritize the delivery of Emergency Care Kits to rescue groups that need them most.
In April, hundreds of kits were distributed to cat and dog foster volunteers around the country with the help of GreaterGood.org and pet caregivers on the WAG! platform as part of the #StayHomeAndFoster campaign.
Stephanie, a Foster Coordinator with the Humane Society of West Michigan, reports, "We received the donation at Humane Society of West Michigan yesterday. WOW! Thank you so much for allowing our foster and shelter pets this amazing opportunity!
However, thousands more cats and dogs are at risk and more supplies are desperately needed to save pet lives during these difficult times.
During times of disaster, it's vital to unite and show our support for one another, as well as the animals who are also experiencing the hardships.
Sponsor a foster pet's care by contributing a kit of food and essential items to keep orphaned dogs & cats safe, fed, and comfortable as they wait for adoption into a new home!
A lack of these are essential items, unless we can fund them, may prevent new fosters from signing up. Sponsoring a foster pet's care in this drastic time of need is an extremely paw-sitive way to show your love for cats and dogs!
Each foster sponsorship and every product at The Animal Rescue Site store also funds an additional 35 meals for shelter animals!
Shelters need help supporting the growing population of animals that are turned over to them. When overcrowding occurs, shelters ask for help from pet foster families in their area, to house some of these sweet creatures until they find their forever home. To support these pet foster families, shelters like to be able to provide them with some of the essential items to make a dog or cat feel at home and comfortable in their new environment. This also encourages families who might not otherwise foster take that brave and heartfelt step of housing an animal in need.
When a furry friend, gets to rest in a loving home versus a shelter environment, they are able to receive that much needed close attention that helps them grow and be confident. Often, overcrowded shelters can be loud and busy, causing an animal to be more sullen, nervous or scared. Living in a foster home and receiving treats, toys, hugs, petting, and playtime is a wonderful way for a shelter pet's personality to truly come out! When an animal feels safe, and nurtured, they're more likely to get adopted. By purchasing a care kit you are giving an animal a much larger opportunity for a better life, and letting them know that there is happiness and love out there!
Stories:
Heather Allen of HALO Animal Rescue share's Abby's story: Abby is a nursing momma of eleven puppies, in foster care with HALO Animal Rescue. Abby came to the shelter as a transfer from the local municipal shelter who did not have a foster home that could care for her while she cared for her soon-to-be babies. While her main job is caring for her very large litter, she absolutely LOVES toys and treats fetching like a serious job. This photo is her in her foster home in the midst
of playing fetch with one of the plush toys donated by Greater Good. She eagerly raced to the toy box and plucked out her newest joy, this truck! Abby also happily snacks on the Taco Tuesday treats that Greater Good sent. She's never met a treat she didn't like!

Pawsome idea. Anyway, anytime l can help cats, l'm in. Have 9 cats of my own right now but hope to foster cats someday. Actually going to remodel a room in my house to do just that.
It makes me happy to think I have helped a dog get into a foster home. There is much need right now.
These workers are angels.
