Update: Bruzer received surgery and made a full recovery, thanks to your support. The shelter told us, " After his surgery, he came back to HSSW and we began a new feeding and healing regiment for him. This included eating his meals sitting up like a person - in our case, we sat with him on our laps or in a Bailey Chair. This also included keeping his activity level low, keeping him relaxed, and giving him his daily medications. Bruzer was a great patient and is doing SO well now!! So well in fact, that he has graduated from his Bailey Chair and now eats on all fours."

Bruzer has had a rough start in life.

He was originally surrendered due to a complicated situation in his home. He quickly found a new home but was returned when he began vomiting and refusing to eat, and his new family couldn't take on his care.

Bruzer has a type of internal hernia that has created a pocket in his diaphragm. Part of his liver has slipped into this pocket and become necrotic, putting him at risk of liver failure. Without treatment, Bruzer will only get worse. He needs surgery to remove the damaged tissue and repair the hernia.

Handsome Bruzer deserves a second chance at a happy home. With surgery, he can recover and go on to find a loving family who understands his special needs, but he can’t do it alone. Will you help Bruzer get treatment for his life-threatening condition?
