Lasunka and her litter of newborn puppies were found in an abandoned and destroyed home. This mama was suffering from several injuries and struggling to tend to her babies. Shelter staff rescued the little family and brought them to their facility for care.

During her physical, doctors found that Lasunka was suffering from a broken foreleg and pelvis. They were also surprised to learn that she's only three years old, since her face has turned white due to stress. Ultimately, it was determined that Lasunka would need surgery to heal from her injuries.
