Through this new initiative, Ambassador organizations in some of the most impoverished communities in the country host distribution events for hundreds of income qualified families.

Community Relief Hubs provide food for families and their pets, along with critical everyday necessities like warm clothing, shoes, school supplies, bedding, household essentials, and pet supplies. These supplies are help families find relief, dignity, and stability during difficult times.

These simple items can mean:

• Someone feels seen, supported, and cared for during a difficult season

Community Relief Hubs in action: East St. Louis — August 4, 2026
East St. Louis is one of the poorest cities in the Midwest, with about one in three people living in poverty. Decades of factory closures and a lack of local investment have left the city with fewer jobs, diminishing tax money, and crumbling infrastructure.

These factors have created a severe food desert, with nearly 83 percent of East St. Louis residents struggling to access adequate groceries. About 1 in 6 children in the greater St. Louis area struggles with hunger, as families are forced to choose between buying food or paying for rent, medicine, or other basic needs.

On August 4, the inaugural Community Relief Hub brought hope to this impoverished community. The event focused on the back-to-school needs of thousands of children in East St. Louis while also providing necessities like food, toiletries, clothing, gift cards, pet food, and other supplies for the entire family.
