Sick, mistreated, and injured animals arrive daily at animal shelters and rescues in desperate need of medical care to survive. They have endured more pain and suffering than any animal ever should and deserve a second chance to find love.
Shelters are overcrowded, underfunded, and struggling to feed and care for all the homeless animals. Without financial support, these shelters would be forced to make a difficult decision. That's where you can help.
Join us in saving more lives during our annual Paws in Peril Care-A-Thon that will help fund the emergency medical care and recovery of animals in pain. Read their stories below and help us save them all.
Cherry

A terrified mother cat named Cherry, and her newborn kitten were heard crying for help in an abandoned house by a neighbor. Thankfully, they stopped to help.
The one-year-old calico cat and her precious kitten were taken to Humane Society of Somerset County. The staff named the kitten Blossom. Upon arrival, the staff noticed that Cherry seemed to be struggling while nursing her kitten.

They examined her and discovered she was suffering from a life-threatening prolapsed uterus. She was rushed to a local vet clinic. The shelter told us, "Cherry had recently given birth to a kitten, and during the process of giving birth, she experienced a severe uterine prolapse with severe bleeding and pain. It was clear that the mother needed urgent surgery or euthanasia due to pain and blood loss."

Cherry deserves a second chance, so the shelter proceeded with the emergency surgery. Veterinarians repositioned her uterus and performed the surgical steps needed to repair her pelvic floor, prevent infection, and manage her pain.
Blossom will be bottle fed while she waits for her mama to recover. Donate today to help Cherry heal.
Melly

Melly, a one-year-old Chihuahua, took a devastating fall which shattered her front leg. She was surrendered to a shelter when her young owner could not afford the medical care she needed.
The tiny dog is unable to put weight on the leg and needs urgent surgery to walk again without pain. She has her whole life ahead of her. Will you help her get the surgery she needs to heal?

After surgery, she will spend weeks recovering before she can walk and play again. Donate now to give her a second chance.
Roma

It is a miracle that Roma survived an attack by four dogs. She managed to live but is suffering from a shattered jaw and open wounds that need immediate care.

She was rushed to a clinic where she was stabilized and started on antibiotics and pain medication. Roma will need reconstructive jaw surgery followed by weeks of soft foot, crate rest, and ongoing care to help her recover.

She is a fighter and refuses to give up, and neither will her caretakers. Help show her someone cares by donating towards her medical expenses.
Grace

An eight-week-old puppy was about to go to a rescue when disaster struck. She was attacked by another dog and left with one eye protruding from her head. The poor pup was taken in by the rescue and rushed to a clinic for care.

Grace's eye could not be saved, and the only option is to remove the damaged eye. The injury had already caused significant tissue death, meaning every moment mattered. She needed immediate surgery to remove the damaged eye and prevent the devastating risk of infection, worsening pain, and potentially life-threatening complications.

She is still recovering and adjusting to life with one eye. Help cover her medical bills and give her a brighter future.
Nit

Wildfires tore through Nit's hometown, and she was forced to run for her life. The stray cat managed to escape the flames but not without injury. Her paws are severely burned, and she needs urgent care to help them heal and to relieve the pain.

She will need daily wound care, antibiotics, and ointments to reduce the pain and aid in the healing process. Every step she takes is painful and she needs your support to get the care she needs to get back on her feet.
Rainbow

This 10-month-old dog was suffered unimaginable cruelty before help arrived. Someone came to her rescue when they witnessed her being kicked repeatedly and noticed wounds covering her body.

Rainbow arrived at Hope 4 Hounds where she was taken in by a foster where she could finally feel safe. Her battle continues as she suffers from severe ringworm, demodex mange, and a serious skin infection, leaving her in desperate need of ongoing medical treatment and compassionate care.

She has a long road to recovery ahead to heal her body as well as her heart. She is slowly realizing that not all humans are bad. Donate today to help cover her medical bills and give her a fighting chance at finding love.
Noah

Abused, starved, and injured is how Noah was found. This poor dog suffered immensely before being rescued. Witnesses saw the skinny pit bull being dragged down the street by his ears and scruff. Law enforcement intervened to save Noah and charge the person responsible with felony animal cruelty.

Noah has never known a kind touch as his body is covered in scars and every bone visible. The shelter recalled, "As a result of the abuse, Noah was severely emaciated and suffering from two broken legs, along with numerous abrasions and other injuries consistent with prolonged neglect and physical abuse."

He needs emergency medical care to repair his broken legs and pain medication followed by weeks of rehabilitation and ongoing care. He needs to regain his strength and that will involve many small meals to reintroduce food to his starving body.
After all he has endured he remains a sweet dog with a glimmer of hope in his eyes. Help show him that he is loved by donating towards his care.
