911 Dispatcher Helps Family Saving Drowning Toddler With CPR

A 2-year-old girl in Florida is alive today thanks to the calm and quick actions of a 911 dispatcher.
According to a Facebook post from the Volusia Sheriff's Office, the toddler was found face down in her family's pool, unresponsive.
Photo: The child had allegedly been supervised by a relative with several other children and she managed to get in the pool and began to drown.
When someone noticed her, she was already lifeless but someone immediately jumped in and got her out before calling 911. The call was shared in the Facebook post and you can hear a frantic woman explaining the situation with sheer panic in her voice.
Photo: Despite the gravity of the situation, the 911 operator remains perfectly calm and asks a series of questions while reassuring the caller that help was on the way.
While first responders were en route, the dispatcher continued to speak with the woman and realized that no one at home was trained or knew how to perform CPR. Thankfully, that didn't stop the dispatcher from helping. He calmy delivered explicit directions to lay the child down and perform chest compressions until help could arrive, giving a step-by-step guide on how to do it.
Photo: Thankfully, the CPR worked, and with the help of first responders, the child became responsive and began to cry. She was promptly transported to a hospital in "serious condition" but the sheriff's office reported she was doing well the following day.
Doctors are optimistic she'll make a full recovery, and it's likely thanks to the 911 dispatcher!
