Boy Saves Puppy From His Father's Beatings By Dropping Him At The Shelter With A Note
Ask any boy that has ever had a puppy and they will let you know that it was one of the happiest times in their life. Many children will beg for a puppy and if it becomes a reality, they form a bond that is easy to see.
That bond sometimes causes the children to do something that they may not have wanted to do. It recently happened in Mexico, when a young boy dropped his puppy in a cardboard box outside of a rescue shelter called Xollin. Inside of the box was a pit bull pup along with a note telling them why the dog was being dropped off.
The rescue was so touched by what they saw that they decided to post it on Facebook for the world to see. Since that time, people have been reaching out offering help. They are also giving kudos to the young boy for making such a difficult decision.
It seems as if the 12-year-old boy named Andres had dropped the puppy outside of Xollin to save him. You see, he loved the little dog but he was also afraid for his safety because of the beatings the dog was getting from his father. Andres and his mother made the difficult decision to drop off the pup to protect him.
Although the original note from Andres was in Spanish, it is translated into English as:
"My name is Andrés and I am 12 years old. My mom and I decided to leave my dog in your hands, hiding it from my dad because he is thinking about selling him. But he mistreats and kicks him. One day he kicked him so hard that he hurt his tail. I hope you can help and take care of him. I left him a stuffed animal so he won’t forget me."
The little dog has been named René, and after a health check, they found out that he was riddled with parasites and had a fractured tail. These days, René is getting the TLC he needs but he also needs something else: a forever home.
The Facebook posts generated hundreds of requests from those who would be willing to adopt René. It seems as if he is going to get the loving home he deserves and it is just a matter of time until the right family is selected.
The love that a young boy feels for his dog is more than most of us will ever know. It's not just something that keeps them together, it's something that led this one child to make a sacrifice that was for the greater good.
I love to write and it keeps me busy. I've been working online, full time since 1999. When you can't find me at the keyboard, you'll find me getting as much as I can out of life. I enjoy living simply, playing games, visiting the beach, and spending time with my family.
