Couple Wakes Up To Find Strange 90-Pound Dog In Bed With Them
I think that all of us have had the experience of waking up feeling disoriented. We may be unaware of what is taking place around us or we might have a feeling as if there is something strange going on.
When Julie Thorton Johnson and her husband, Jimmy woke up one night, they had a similar experience. The problem was, it wasn't disorientation, it was a legitimate strange experience they were having.
As far as Julie and Jimmy are concerned, they absolutely love dogs. They have three dogs in their family, and it isn't unusual to find one of those dogs in their bed sleeping.
As they shared on Facebook, when they woke up in the middle of the night, they didn't give much thought to the fact that there was a dog in bed with them. It wasn't until the morning after a thunderstorm, however, that Jimmy looked over and asked Julie: "Who's dog is this?"
The problem was, Julie didn't know whose dog it was either. It was a bulldog Labrador mix and even though they had a king-size bed, the 90-pound dog was taking up a big chunk of it.
When Julie spoke with The Washington Post, she said "He and I locked eyes for a second and just were silent. And I was like, 'That's not our dog.'"
Meanwhile, the dog was lying on her back, wanting to get some scratches on her belly.
This led to a couple of interesting questions. First of all, how did the dog get into the house? Secondly, why didn't the other three dogs bark? After all, Julie says they would bark at anything, such as a rabbit or squirrel, but they didn't bark at this dog.
Nobody knows for sure, but they think the back door might have been accidentally left open. The dog wandered in during a thunderstorm and decided to have a snuggle.
According to the USA Today, Julie says that it was obvious she was not going to harm anybody. She was just a pup having a "spend-a-night party."
They were ready to adopt the dog, but they decided to try to find where she belonged first. She went on Facebook, saying it was the weirdest post she ever had to make.
Within a few hours, Cris Hawkins and Felecia Johnson responded. It was their dog, Nala, and she ran off after getting loose while on a walk. They were searching, but it got dark.
They hoped the dog would eventually find her way home, but instead, she found her way into another bed.
