  1. Scotland gave birth to the Golden Retrievers. Lord Tweedmouth of Inverness, Scotland, brought the Golden Retriever into the world by breeding a yellow Wavy-Coated Retriever (Nous) and a liver-colored Tweed Water-Spaniel (Belle). Four puppies were born, and the rest is history.
  2. Golden Retrievers are no couch potatoes. As natural athletes, these dogs require a lot of exercise. They love games and outdoor adventures like hiking, mountain climbing, and swimming.

  4. Goldens are a hardworking breed. Golden Retrievers are skillful in hunting and tracking, for which they were bred. But today, these dogs are often a part of search and rescue missions, as well. They are a perfect fit for the job due to their above-average intelligence and high-level of trainability along with an empathetic heart.
  5. Golden Retrievers are excellent therapy dogs. This dog breed is known for its unconditional love, compassion, friendliness, and other endearing qualities. This is why people of all ages who suffer from depression and mental health issues find comfort and serenity in their company.
  6. Golden Retrievers are forever puppies at heart. This is among the best reasons why we can't help falling in love with Golden Retrievers. They have the pure innocence and exuberance of a puppy no matter what age they are.

  8. Golden Retrievers have a big appetite. We love seeing our dogs enjoy all the food we set in their bowls. But when it comes to this dog breed, it's best to measure their food along with treats to avoid obesity, which can cause health problems. Golden Retrievers also eat almost anything, like paper and toys; that's why we should always check what they are munching on to save them from internal blockage and digestive troubles.
  9. Golden Retrievers are mouthy by nature. They are fond of carrying toys and other things in their mouth -- a common characteristic among retrievers.
  10. These dogs carry things in their mouths with amazing gentleness. As hunting dogs in the past, Golden Retrievers used to track and retrieve birds that were shot by their owners. They would pick up and carry these birds in their mouths without causing any injury. Today, Golden Retrievers are still known for this ability; it's even said that they can carry a raw egg in their mouth without breaking its shell.

In this viral video, you'll meet Tofu, who's so in love with humans. Every person he meets makes his day, including a window cleaner he chanced upon one day.

Tofu and his family have just moved to a new home located on the 15th floor of a condominium building. The Golden Retriever was so excited upon seeing a man through their window, not knowing he was there to clean it. Quickly, Tofu tried to make friends with him, and he even got one of his toys to give it to the window cleaner. But, of course, it was impossible for Tofu to hand it over to the man, and he was saddened when the window cleaner "disappeared."

But Tofu's mom always makes sure that he gets the opportunity to meet more people, like taking along the Golden Retriever when she goes to a gas station. Tofu also enjoys his time at the park where he meets other dogs and plays freely.

However, between dogs and people, you can count on Tofu to be more delighted with people than they are with her, even if they are total strangers. Watch him greet new friends with the most enthusiastic hello!

For more than 20 years now, I’ve been devoting my heart, energy, and time to fulfilling my dream, which – many people may agree – is not among the easiest aspirations in life. Part of my happiness is having been able to lend a hand to many individuals, companies, and even governments as an investigative journalist, creative writer, TV director, and radio broadcaster.

At home, I spend my free time learning how to cook various cuisines. Tiramisu, chocolate mousse, and banoffee pie are my favorite desserts. Playing with our dogs, Mushu and Jerusalem, is also a special part of my day. And, of course, I read a lot – almost anything under the sun. But what really makes me feel alive is meeting people from various walks of life and writing about their stories, which echo with the tears and triumph of an unyielding spirit, humanity, and wisdom.
