Update: Mae remained at the hospital for a few days until she started to breathe on her own and started improving. She was put on an antibiotic for a couple weeks and fed nutritious food to help her regain her strength.

Thanks to your support, she is doing well and living in a foster home. She loves everyone she meets and has already made friends with her large canine companion.

Meet Mae

The collie mix was found when she was just a newborn puppy alongside her siblings on the street with her mother nowhere in sight. They were taken in by Rescue is Life and immediately started on regular bottle feedings.

Everything seemed to be going well until one day Mae started to struggle to breathe, her temperature quickly dropped, and she became lethargic.

She was rushed to a local animal clinic for emergency care. She was placed on oxygen to stabilize her condition while tests were performed to figure out the cause of her rapid decline.

Mae is still in critical condition and needs your support to survive. The medical team is still working on identifying the cause of her illness.
