On October 2, a Flight to Freedom departed South Carolina with 125 shelter dogs and cats from areas devastated by Helene.

The animals were waiting for homes prior to the hurricane. They are now going to get the second chance they deserve in Wisconsin.

Your donations helped fly them to freedom AND open kennels for displaced pets.

Animal shelters in the path of Helene did their best to prepare by finding fosters or getting extra supplies. However, no one could imagine the damage this historic storm would cause.

It will take months and years for the hardest hit areas to recover. Search and rescue teams are still looking for survivors as hundreds are still missing.

Displaced dogs and cats will now have a safe place to rest until they can be reunited with their families.

The shelter dogs and cats received a warm welcome from the receiving shelters in Wisconsin and are eager to find loving homes. The animals will shortly be put up for adoption.
