A Shelter Cat with a Fondness for Fashion Only Wants to Walk One Runway — Yours!

Pima Animal Care Center

She's not a fashion hound, she's a fashion feline, and her name is Sheba. Sheba is a fun-loving kitty with style and flair who moonlights as an office assistant at the Pima Animal Care Center in Tucson, Arizona. Spayed, she's considered a Domestic Medium-hair girl and weighs approximately 11 pounds. Shelter staff believes she's about 9 years old, so she's only midway through her nine lives.

Shelter Life

The sad part is that she's been at the shelter since at least July 2021! Can everyone agree that no animal should be in a rescue facility for a year or more? Now that that's settled, let's talk some more about Sheba. Like most mature felines, she enjoys the simple things in life and doesn't require anything too fancy-schmancy, but she is particular about her wardrobe. That's because she enjoys playing dress-up and wearing sweaters, even though she has a thick, luxurious coat covering her Rubenesque figure.

Strutting the Catwalk

As cats go, Sheba's low-maintenance and keeps herself groomed and presentable, but sometimes she gets into stuff that leaves telltale marks on her sweet kitten face. Shelter staff shared her thoughts on her current situation, and they go like this: "I hope to find a furever home that loves chunky, round cats. Who needs a weighted blanket when I'm available!" She's got a point. Those weighted blankets that have gotten so popular in the last few years are pricey!

Kitty-Cat Particulars

If you have a warm bed, couch, or windowsill to nap on, Sheba wants to get to know you better. There's nothing specific written about her relationship with other cats or dogs, so you'll have to include those questions when you inquire about her. After more than a year in rescue, she'll likely need a little time to adjust, so patience on your part would be welcomed by her. She just needs a loving friend who doesn't mind playing dress-up with her. After all, who's going to work those snaps, buttons, zippers, or Velcro closures if not you?

Adoptable Cats

If you are interested in adopting Sheba or you know of someone who might be, please email pacc.adopt@pima.gov with additional questions. The office is basically her kennel, and her ID# is A746169. You can also try calling phone number (520) 724-5900. Just ask for Sheba, if she doesn't answer the phone herself. She'll be waiting...
