This GivingTuesday, Help Keep Ukrainians Warm and Fed with Winter Relief Kits
The holiday season is typically a time for excitement, indulgent food, family, and joyous celebration. For people in Ukraine this year, however, the holidays are likely to be a constant reminder of the cruelties of war and the things that have been taken from them.
These people have lost homes, loved ones, and even access to some of the most basic necessities like consistent electricity and plentiful food. For many, this Christmas will be a meager one as families struggle just to survive.
As Ukraine enters its second winter since the Russian invasion, the need for warm blankets and nutritious food is again reaching a peak. This GivingTuesday, we need your help to make sure that Ukrainians are warm and well-fed, two of the vital components of survival - and a happy holiday season.
GreaterGood and our partners have been working for nearly two years - with the support of our generous donors - to bring food, blankets, medical kits, pet food, hot pizza, and other supplies to the frontlines and to those who have been impacted the most by the brutalities of this war.
This year, we've brought food and supplies to the poor and those with disabilities in their homes and to countless people in need at distribution sites. We visited a crowded makeshift home for blind people and brought basic necessities to them. We worked to keep people afloat (no pun intended) after the Russians bombed the Nova Kakhovka Dam and the Kakhovskaya Hydroelectric Power Station, leaving thousands trapped in their homes by the floods, unsure when power would be restored.
Your support has made all the difference to thousands of people this year, but the war is not over. The need in Ukraine is as great as it was on day one of this invasion, and we will not stop fighting to get these basic supplies to those who need them. Will you continue to join us on this mission?
Your GivingTuesday donation helps fund winter relief kits for displaced and struggling Ukrainian families. Each kit comes with 80 meals, including lots of staple food items like flour, rice, cooking oil, and traditional holiday favorite foods, as well as some basic hygiene supplies. Each box can sustain two people for about a month.
Your gift also helps supply thick Ukraine-made winter blankets so that families can stay warm this winter and conserve energy when access to power is limited. Each blanket purchased keeps Ukrainian blanket manufacturers employed and will keep a family warm for many years to come. This year, we've given away 41,500 full-sized blankets and 12,000 infant blankets!
Will you help us send blankets and food to Ukrainians in need this GivingTuesday? Just $50 can provide a Winter Relief Kit to a family in need this holiday season, and 100% of your Gift That Gives More™ donation will go as a charitable gift to Greater Good Charities. Donate now to give where it matters!
