Countless dogs continue to suffer at puppy mills, like Lisa and Dale. 

The two Dalmatians had been let down and mistreated by humans for so long that Lisa lost her faith in mankind. Dale held on to a sliver of hope that one day things would get better. 

After living their entire lives in horrible conditions and being bred for profit, they were crammed into a wire cage when they were no longer needed and brought to an auction to be sold to the highest bidder.  

Lisa was shivering in fear as Dale stood strong next to her hoping that they weren’t heading to another puppy mill.

Their luck changed that day when undercover rescuers bid and won.

Rocky Spot Rescue shared, “People who understood that Lisa’s aggression was not cruelty, but survival. For the first time, Lisa’s fight worked for her rather than against her. She scared away the wrong buyers, leaving only the right ones.”

Lisa was very defensive from years of mistreatment and wanted nothing to do with humans. Dale was the only one she trusted.

She arrived with an inverted eye lid, malnourished, and fearful of humans.

Dale quickly warmed up to his rescuers and realized they were there to help. He found a family to love and is living his best life. 

Meanwhile, Lisa started the long healing process by taking it one day at a time. Her caretakers were extremely patient with her and eventually she started to warm up to them.

Your donations helped her experience the simple joys in life for the first time, like a soft bed, tasty treats, and nutritious food. 

She slowly accepted pets and realized that not all humans are bad. Her caretakers shared some great news with us, “Time healed her. Love transformed her. Eventually, Lisa went to the perfect home—a family experienced with Dalmatians who understood her journey.”
