Giant Malamute Tackles His Favorite Human With Hugs

Giant Malamute Tackles His Favorite Human With Hugs

When I was growing up, my family had a dog. She was a cocker spaniel-poodle mix, and she was relatively medium-sized. This meant that when she ran up to us and tried to jump up on us, it wasn't too bad. It's not like she could knock us over or anything like that.

But for some dog owners, big dogs jumping up can have some serious momentum behind them. Imagine an 80-pound dog jumping up on you - now that would probably hurt.

Of course, when our big dogs jump up it's not out of malice. They're just happy and excited to see us. That's always a nice reminder of how much we're loved by our furry companions.

However, there is one hilarious video that features an 85-pound Malmute practically crushing his human during a hug.

According to The Dodo, the dog is named Hugo, and Hugo's human is Brian Hanshaft.

The two are best friends, and as part of their friendship, Hanshaft taught Hugo a little trick of giving each other hugs back when Hugo was just a little puppy.

Of course, Hugo started growing up, getting bigger and bigger, which meant that the enthusiastic hugs got more and more intense. That intensity can be seen in the following video, which is a montage of all of Hugo's hugs.

In each clip, Hanshaft is pretty much tackled to the ground by the large Malamute. It's funny to watch, but at the same time also endearing as it shows just how much this pup loves his human.

What do you think of this pair? Do you have a big dog? Has your big dog ever knocked you down? Let us know!
