Hoarding is a serious issue in the United States and the number one animal cruelty crisis facing companion animals in communities throughout the country, according to Animal Legal Defense Fund. 

Over 250,000 dog and cats are victims of hoarders each year. The dogs and cats are found in horrible conditions suffering from untreated illnesses along with severe malnutrition. They are also suffering psychologically from years of isolation and neglect. 

Hoarding cases continue to rise and the suffering animals need our help. Right now we are trying to help over 150 neglected cats and dogs found in three horrific hoarding cases. 

Denied basic care for so long, these animals are sick, suffering, and in need of extensive medical care. They managed to survive the years of mistreatment and squalor conditions, but not without harm. 

32 Dogs - Florida

32 dogs of all ages, sizes, and breeds were found inside a home that no animal or person should live in. The filthy conditions combined with no space and medical care resulted in all of the dogs needing urgent care. 

Aside from their nails being so overgrown it was painful to walk, many are suffering from fleas, skin and eye infections, respiratory issues, kidney stones, heart conditions, and need to be spayed or neutered. 

Cinnamon, a 12-year-old Cocker Spaniel, is one of the survivors who has lived for possibly years in the horrific conditions. She needs to be groomed, treated for eye infections, and given proper food to help her aging body heal from all the neglect. Despite all the pain and suffering she has endured, she remains a sweet pup. 

47 Dogs - Pennsylvania

47 small dogs were found living in deplorable conditions in a home with feces covering the floor, no electricity, and without access to food or water. It is a miracle they survived. 

Their sad eyes tell their heartbreaking story of a life without proper care and love. They are finally safe, but their journey to recovery is just beginning. Due to years of neglect, they are suffering from painful dermatitis, dental disease, and ear infections, and several are so critically ill they require emergency surgery for life-threatening conditions like pyometra.

The rescue who took them in decided to name them after flowers. "We named them after flowers. Not because their story is delicate, but because they remind us that even after the harshest conditions, rescued dogs continue to show us what resilience looks like.” 

5-year-old Exochorda arrived severely dehydrated and in need of emergency surgery for life-threatening pyometra. The resilient pup is also suffering from painful ear and skin infections. She needs your support to heal. 

74 Cats - Pennsylvania

Rescuers discovered 74 cats living in squalor in a trailer in Hanover. Every surface was covered in urine or feces. For years, the cats have lived in isolation without proper care. 

Many are old, sick, injured, matted, and need urgent medical care. Several are missing an eye, while others are fighting to survive from untreated illnesses. 

Cats like Robin, who had a horrible eye infection that resulted in her losing one eye. She is unsure of humans and in pain from severe dental disease, malnutrition, and untreated infections.
