Brave Cat Helps Stop Burglar But Is Nearly Lost in the Process

A cat café is happy to have one of their beloved felines back after a would-be burglar let him out in the middle of the night.

Penguin is a tuxedo cat with a bold personality that makes him a favorite at the Seattle Meowtropolitan Cat Café in Wallington. He loves playing with the visitors and doing tricks, including giving high fives, in exchange for treats. He's got a wonderful life full of good food, good fun, and good friends (both human and feline). But he almost lost it all one night when an intruder let him out of the cat café.

Video surveillance shows Penguin going to sit at a back door of the cat café where several litter boxes are kept and staring at the door, probably because he heard the sound of someone trying to pick the lock. That someone was successful and soon opened the door and peeked in, letting Penguin out in the process.

Luckily, the would-be burglar wasn't interested in Penguin and seemed confused by all the litter boxes. He quickly decided this wasn't the type of venue he had in mind for his burglary attempt and left without taking anything. However, Penguin was now outside the cat café and potentially in danger of ending up lost.

When the owner of the cat cafe got wind that security had been breached at the establishment, he rushed over to make sure everyone was safe. Penguin was found in a hallway attached to the café, happily not having made it through any other doors into the outside world. He is now back home with his feline pals and doesn't seem any the worse for having been on such an adventure.

For his part, the would-be burglar got away, but we suspect he wasn't very satisfied with the outcome of his attempted robbery. Aside from the confusion in the cat café, he also picked the lock of a vacant commercial space next door, where there was also likely not much of interest to him. Better luck next time...or not.
