Vet Finds Sharp Bone Fragment Lodged In Neglected Puppy's Throat

All animals deserve a home that is going to love them and care for them unconditionally. However, it is extremely heartbreaking to see an animal that has nowhere to go and no one to care for them.

But what can be even more upsetting, is a pet that is being neglected by its owner. And that was the case for one little pup in De Doorns.

Fortunately for the pup, now named Squiggle, help came just in time. He was in very bad shape. He had no appetite and wasn't touching food or water.

In addition, he had white gums and was very cold to the touch. Rescuers from Sidewalk Specials found him just in time and they convinced his owner to surrender him for proper care.

They wasted no time in getting the little pooch to the vet in order to find out what was going on. It was found that not only was there a bone stuck in his throat, but there was also a metal wire caught in his intestines.

The 8-week-old male pup needed immediate care for his medical issues and received treatment right away. He is expected to recover, but for now, remains with Sidewalk Specials.

Once he's all better, he will be put up for adoption. They expect him to be a medium-sized dog once he's full grown. Hopefully he'll find the loving home he deserves.

Click to Help James

James and his blind brother, William, were found abandoned on the street when they were just four weeks old. James was born with one blind eye that started to cause him discomfort. Over time, that eye became increasingly painful and irritated. James is the seeing-eye cat for his brother, making his condition even more urgent to treat.
