My adopted son wanted his own pet. He chose the name Bagel the Beagle. Since he was adopted, he wanted to adopt a rescue dog.
After checking online, he found the perfect dog through PawSafe Animal Rescue. We got to their rescue event early and waited in line, hoping that his choice would still be available.
When his turn came to look at the dogs, he made a beeline to Bagel's crate, and Bagel seemed to know that they would be together and climbed into my son's lap.
There was instant bonding when between them! They have been inseparable for the last three years. They can often be found outside, and a favorite game is soccer. Bagel is quite the goalie!
Of course they sleep together. Bagel waits patiently while my son is at school and always knows when it is time for him to come home. Bagel has also been a lovely little sister to our 15-year-old dog, Patches.
