Senior Cat Who's Been Surrendered Twice is Ready to See if Third Time's the Charm

There are many, many cats, more than we would hope, that we see throughout their lives because life can change in an instant. Starting out with The Cat House on the Kings as an adorable kitten who had no safe place to live, she was old enough and weighed enough to get spayed right away and then go up for adoption after spay surgery recovery.
Even though she was as cute as could be, she was available for adoption for the first time during the winter holiday season, which can be a hard time to get adopted. Love found its way for her first adopter the following February, just after Valentine's Day.
She spent seven years with this adoptive family, and in 2016, she got a fox tail in her right eye, requiring the eye to be removed. In 2021, her family had to move out of state and they could not take her with them. Becky was returned to us, as we are grateful to have the opportunity to provide care again for one of our extremely large cat family, versus them being surrendered somewhere that they may not have the best outcome.
Becky was not thrilled to lose her home and her humans, but she did adjust and she was thankfully adopted again after only a couple of months.
Life changed again for Becky when, three years after adopting her, her adopter had to move to a location that wouldn't allow Becky to go with her. We will always be Becky's extended family, just as it is with all of the lives that have passed through our doors. We want the adoptions to be forever, but life doesn't always work like that.
As she was again very un-thrilled to be back at our Adoption Center, our team of caretakers gave Becky extra patience, sweet talk, bribes, calmness, easy going lap time, and TLC to help bring her around. She did seem to really enjoy her purrsonal photo session to show off her gorgeousness and her striking beauty. We know she knows she is stunning! She even did a special wink for one of her "adopt me" photos, so if you like taking cat photos as well as having a cat companion, we have the star for you!
It is really hard on our hearts for our cats or kittens to be returned, only because we don't want them to miss their family. We always appreciate seeing and reconnecting with one of our own kitties, as we do everything that we can to have their path of the good adopted life continue on. We always want our cats to live better even than we do, so we are sharing our beautiful now 10 year old Becky with the world so she can have her best world... again!
Here's Becky's adoption profile:
Sweet Becky was originally adopted as a kitten and returned seven years later, and she was just returned again after three years because her human mom is moving where she cannot have a pet. Becky only has one eye, but she purrs, loves attention and is a lap cat. However, she can be quite frightened by loud noises and new situations. She is overwhelmed and stressed in her new environment, but will still accept pets. She likes to wrap herself in blankets like a cocoon to feel safe.
Still available for adoption, again at 10 years old, she would do best in a quiet home with people who are willing to give her a chance to warm up, feel comfortable and blossom. This senior girl deserves another chance at love, doesn't she? Becky is one of our kitties that we will provide care for when life changes or doesn't provide what is needed. She is also an excellent advocate for all of our kitties in need! If you'd like to give her a third shot at a forever home, click here!
