Shy Cat, Left All Alone After Her Brothers Were Adopted, Needs a Patient Home

Candi has all the sweetness that matches her name, but it takes patience to reach it. Starting out life with her mama cat to protect her, she didn't understand or react well to being scooped up from the location she was accustomed to, only to be put into a vehicle with her littermates. They were then taken to a parking lot to be potentially sold off and separated from the only safety that they had known.
Thankfully, we were able to help this litter of scared and bewildered kittens by taking them in for care at The Cat House on the Kings. We also provided support for spay and neuter of her cat parents. Taking away security can have a lasting effect on kittens, and it certainly did for Candi. Coming in to The Cat House last July - yes, over a year ago - she did have the comfort of her siblings to help her nerves. She did do well in her loving foster home where they understood shy and apprehensive kittens.
Now, her brothers - yes, all boys besides Candi - also had reservations when meeting new people or in new situations, but they used their charms successfully to all get adopted. This left Candi without any of her original family, and she did have stress from that, which led to her suffering from a bout of URI (like a cat cold). Candi has been patient with treatment and she recovered well to meet many new kitties in the adoption room she returned to.
She posed politely last year for an autumn-themed photo with our professional photographer, and we were sure that this would lead to her adoption. Here we are a year later with many kitties passing through the adoption room she is in and on to families. It will be time for another holiday photo session soon and we need help for this beautiful reclusive sweetheart.
Below is her profile. Her adoption fee is sponsored, so it won't cost her adopter anything but love and understanding!
Cute little one-year-old Candi is a shy kitty. She will need some extra time to become comfortable and feel safe and secure in her new environment. Her foster parents have given her gentle, loving and patient attention, and she now welcomes their affectionate snuggles. She has the sweetest little meow and a cute little purr.
Candi plays well with other kittens. She has not been exposed to dogs or children. She will take a little extra effort. A quiet home and lots of patience and kindness will be worth it, as Candi will thrive and blossom in the right environment.
