A couple of years ago, I was working at the local Subway sandwich shop in my hometown. My shift had just started, and my boss informed me that there was a little white cat outside that she had been feeding all day. It was November, and the temperature was below freezing.

I opened the back door and saw the tiny little kitty dart under the dumpster. I ran back inside and got a handful of tuna. I set it outside in little piles leading to the back door, hoping that she would follow the trail of tuna to the door so I could grab her and bring her inside where it was warm.

I watched through a window as she slowly made her way toward the door. She could barely walk because she was so cold, and her big blue eyes looked so sad. I felt terrible for her.

Once she got to the door, I ran outside and scooped her up. She was so scared but I didn't want her to freeze, so I took a quick break from work and brought her home to my not-so-impressed mom.

My mom made efforts to find another home for her at first, but I wouldn't let that happen. I named her Chloe; she had found her forever home. After taking her to the vet to get her spayed, vaccinated, and to get rid of worms, ear mites, and a respiratory infection, Chloe was feeling much better.

She is the most loving, appreciative, and affectionate cat my family has. She plays fetch with her ball and comes when her name is called--just like a dog. I will never regret saving my little white blue-eyed best friend.
