My wonderful, big, juicy orange tabby Fred had cancer. He was in pain and we had to send him to kitty heaven. I held him in my arms as he slipped away, and I swore I would never get another cat since there would never be another cat like him - Fred was a one in a million boy. I cried for days and days.
Well, two days later, I found out about a little orange tabby girl who needed a home. She and her sister were found at only 2 weeks old in a sack on the riverbank. We went to see her.
She was the cutest thing I had ever seen! Lots of personality and very affectionate! My daughter named her Daisy-head Mayzie (Mayzie for short), and she certainly has filled that great big Fred-sized hole in our hearts.
We still miss our boy to pieces, but Mayzie has been such a wonderful addition to our lives and I don't know what I'd do without her! Plus she knows how to put the dogs in their place.
