This is my boy, Eon. I rescued him in 2016.

We found him on the street with broken bones, slashes throughout his body, blood clots, matted hair, and bloodshot eyes. He was skin and bones.

I got a call from my mum saying I needed to get down to her job immediately. I felt a tug in my chest and left class right away.

I picked him up and took him home so I could shower him, clean up his matted hair, see what was going on underneath, and treat his wounds.

I thought I lost him during the first two days. He would not move. But on the third day, he slowly made his way to the water, then went back to bed. On the fourth day, he started to eat.

By the seventh day, I had gained enough of his trust for him to come onto the bed with me. He laid down by my feet.

On the eighth day, I took him to the vet to see if he was chipped. He was not.

The vet said Eon was only about 5 or 6 months old at the time. They also said procedures had been practiced on him at his previous home, and his vitals showed he had about two days left of life in him when we found him.

I knew then and there that this little angel was mine.

I named him, and the rest was history. I have taken him all over the West Coast, and I have tried to give him the world ever since.

He just turned 10 years old this April. I would not be here without my boy.
