Five years ago, my grandmother—who I was closest to—passed away. I was heartbroken and deeply depressed. I had to start trying to piece myself back together, and it was incredibly hard.

One day, we were dropping off our cat at the vet to be spayed when I saw a tiny kitten. He was under two months old. His eyes were closed and crusted over, his fur was matted, and he was sneezing constantly.

When I took him to the vet, they told me he had a severe respiratory infection and an eye infection. They said he might never see, and they had very little hope that he would survive.

I bought kitten milk, bottles, warming beds—everything he could possibly need. I fed him around the clock and did everything I could to help him recover.

After about two months, he was up and running around like a normal kitten.

He brought me out of my darkness and still keeps me company to this day. He is my angel. I named him Sora, which means “Sky” in Japanese. He is my heart, and he always seems to know exactly when I need him most.
