One day during tennis practice in my senior year, a teammate mentioned that she had a kitten, but her mom would not let her keep it. She told me that a man had been shooting some kittens because he did not want them, and one scared little kitten had run under her car.

I told her to ask my mom, since we already had two cats. Later that evening, I waited excitedly to meet my new kitten.

She was so cute and friendly. I thought through different names and finally settled on Juno, after one of my favorite movies.

Juno and my other cat, Leo, became best friends.

In August 2012, I went off to college, but I was always excited to come home to Juno. I waited two years and told my mom that I would take her as soon as I got an apartment, because June Bug was my baby.

Two years later, I finally had my baby with me.

Now Juno meows at me when she wants to be petted or played with. She sits on the cat tree beside my desk and annoys my roommates whenever she gets the chance. She also loves carrying her catnip toys around.

She is so gentle and precious. She even helped lower my college stress levels.

I do not know what I would do without my June Bug.

Click to Help James

James and his blind brother, William, were found abandoned on the street when they were just four weeks old. James was born with one blind eye that started to cause him discomfort. Over time, that eye became increasingly painful and irritated. James is the seeing-eye cat for his brother, making his condition even more urgent to treat.
