A Tiny Kitten Rescued From Suffocating Heat Filled Her Family’s Lives With 21 Years of Love

On July 7, 1993, my husband, stepdaughter, and I were entering our church when we noticed a sealed box outside. Screams were coming from inside it.
The deacon said animal control was expected Monday morning. I became upset and told him that whatever was inside would be dead by then. It was 98 degrees outside.
After my stepdaughter and I gave my husband “the look,” he opened the box and found four baby kittens. He scooped up the box, took them home, and began cleaning them. A bowl of spoiled milk had spilled all over them.

We called the cat clinic and brought the kittens in for an examination. We were told they were probably only 10 days old.
We bottle-fed them, cared for them, and eventually had them spayed or neutered. We found loving homes for two of the kittens and kept the other two, Pisces and Virgo.
We lost Pisces two years ago. My Virgo is a dream, still full of life and kisses at 21 years old. I cannot imagine our lives without her.
