My Turkish Angora, Bean, died of cancer in April 2022 and while I wanted another cat, I wasn't ready.

There are a few roaming neighborhood cats, to whom many people provide food and water.

One, a boy, we call Porch Cat. He's an orange striped tabby.

The other cat, Pixie, followed Porch Cat here. We occasionally let both come inside, like when it rains.

Pixie was getting big around the middle, so we assumed she was pregnant. Then one day, she was suddenly thin. We searched the house looking for kittens but found none. We figured she must have had them outside somewhere.

Fast forward a month. I went into the back room, the craft room, looking for some twine, and I discovered four little faces staring at me.

I was utterly shocked!

I flew into action, creating an enclosure with boxes and towels and moving the kittens there. When Pixie came to the back door, I let her in and took her to her kittens. Turns out she had them behind some bookshelves, the one place we didn’t look.

They are now nearing nine weeks and have run of the house. We plan on taking them all in to be spayed/neutered as soon as appropriate. Including mom Pixie!

Three boys and one girl. White one is named Trouble, black one is Nero, striped girl is Risca, and the third boy is Gabriel.

We will be keeping Risca and Trouble. Maybe all four if I can convince my husband!
