My dog loves basking in the sun! He is a lizard on our back deck or in our yard.

We live in a rainforest in southeastern Alaska, and he isn’t fond of the rain but will soak up any sun he can get! I have hundreds of photos of him soaking up the sun.

If he is inside on a sunny day, he will make a beeline for the door that leads to the back deck. He cries to get out, to be in the sun.

We call him the sun goddess! He has even burned from getting too much sun. I do have sunscreen on hand and have used it at times. His underside turns black in the summertime, and he has skin pigmentation because of it. I’m sure it’s also do to with age because he is a senior.

He looks forward to the spring and summer months here in Alaska, as we have long dark winters.
