Ruby is 9, and she’s had terrible food allergies all of her life. She doesn’t let that stop her.

I make her food, and I give her special baths. She loves everyone, and she wants to be friends with all creatures great and small.

We go for car rides, which she loves, and although she can’t be outside in long intervals, she loves exploring as much as she can.

I got Ruby and her siblings right before my cancer diagnosis, and although her siblings went on to find other wonderful forever homes, Ruby was by my side through it all, and she continues to be my very best friend and sweet angel.

She is afraid of stairs, though. We’ve never figured that one out, but we take it as it comes. Sometimes she goes right up the steps to the car, and other times, we walk around the building if she feels like she can’t face the stairs. Ruby just leads the way!
